Spectrex Detectors Installed in World's Largest Refinery

February 2016

The largest oil refinery in the world is doubling its capacity to 1.2 million barrels a day. This expansion is met by a requirement for flame and gas detection to protect the whole facility, including its increased output. The SharpEye 40/40I and 40/40LB Optical Flame Detectors were selected, alongside SafEye Quasar 900 Open Path Gas Detectors, providing a complete solution to protect all areas of the newly expanded refinery with the best detectors on the market.

The 40/40I and 40/40LB Optical Flame Detectors are both part of the leading SharpEye 40/40 Series, delivering IR3 and UV/IR flame detection, respectively. The SharpEye 40/40 Series incorporates the latest features and approvals required for today's industries with all detectors carrying Hazardous Area approvals such as FM, ATEX, IECEx, CSA and more for location in zone I areas and 3rd party Performance approvals including EN54-10, FM and DNV.
